Even though I am a one-person design studio, I have extensive and all-around support of a large company at my disposal. The capacity of the project does not limit me due to my resources. Process
The design process is an intimate, rigorous yet guided journey and a collaboration between you and me.
The process starts with your site’s location, which determines the capabilities of what is possible. The approval process will vary depending on how many jurisdictions and review processes are required. There are rare sites which are more difficult than others, involving multiple city approvals, Coastal Commission, HOAs, and sometimes more.
The reasons behind my decisions are not a secret. I love nature and its materials and respect maintaining the balance for the future.
Documenting thoughts during the process eventually translates into the concepts of the design. Upon visiting the site, typically alone, feelings speak to me, and I allow the delicate to have a voice, either translated into a personal writing, poem, sketch, or even a painting. My creative process is incorporative and holistic.
Bio
Ryan Singer was born in Laguna Beach, California. He received his education at CalPoly SLO. He focuses on the design of modern homes.
Restore
It’s important to put back what we take from this earth. For each project, I plant 10X the number of trees used in construction and support ocean clean-up efforts. My goal is to create homes that preserve the Earth’s beauty while minimizing their environmental impact.
